Who We Are?

Chapter Four Programs and Projects Limited was inspired by the Constitution of Kenya 2010 [Bill of Rights] which is under Chapter Four. Njeri participated heavily in influencing the new Kenya constitution, and campaigned heavily for the Bill of Rights Chapter having been influenced by her human rights work in Kenya, Africa and Internationally.Ms Kabeberi sees the close correlation between the Bill of Rights covered under Chapter Four of the Kenya constitution with the Sustainable Development Goals 2030, which she also played a small role in.

With her demand-driven Institute, Njeri intends to sow the seed of development all over Africa through personalized mentorship, personal development and leadership skills working with and developing trainers across the continent in the coming five years. Her strategy of three phases will be piloted in Kenya for a year, using lessons learnt from the pilot, she will embark on phase two training of trainers from across the continent and phase three which will be looking at regional offices of the project within the five political-economic blocks of Africa (ECOWAS, IGAD, EAC, SADC and CAFI).  The training is carefully developed to play the three roles of [Mentorship, Personal Development and Leadership].

Having worked within the continent and internationally, Njeri sees the urgent need to raise the value and the standards of the African workforce if we are to develop the continent to be a worthy competitor in the world market. The training aims to bring the best of each individual.

Meet The Directors

NJERI KABEBERI

DIRECTOR

Ms Kabeberi is the immediate past Executive Director of Greenpeace Africa where she finished her contract on 31st August 2019. Prior to this Njeri worked as Executive Director at the Centre for Multi-Party Democracy (CMD-Kenya) for eleven (11) years. Previously she worked for seven years (7) for Amnesty International as the Development Coordinator for East & Southern Africa. She has served on the Board of the Kenya Human Rights Commission for twelve years, is on the Board of Advisers of International IDEA(Stockholm), on the Board of In-Transformation-Initiative (Pretoria), on the Board of Democracy Works (Pretoria) and currently chairs the International Centre for Policy and Conflict (Nairobi).

Ms Kabeberi is also an opinion shaper in the areas of equality, governance, democracy and human rights, evidenced through her writings, interviews and media engagements. She has unequalled experience working impartially with both the Kenyan political and civil society leadership. She has been a human rights defender for most of her adult life and has made major sacrifices towards that contribution.

Njeri is a recipient of various international awards; among them, the inaugural ‘Humanity Award’ by the Chamber of Lawyers, Frankfurt am Main for ‘Commitment to Law and Justice’ on the 29th of October, 2009, the ‘Democracy Ribbon’ by the City of The Hague on the 3rd November, 2009 for ‘Commitment to Peace and Democracy’ and the ‘ILO Wedge Award 2010’ in recognition of her work to Increase Women Rights in Kenya. In January 2018, Njeri Kabeberi was awarded the "Lifetime Achievement Human Rights Defenders Award - 2017" in Kenya for her lifetime commitment towards the protection of human rights.

Ms Kabeberi has added a new cap to her human rights, political and governance work since she began working for Greenpeace - with a vision to grow a proactive Environmental Movement in Africa where African citizens take charge of their continent by restarting, recreating and renewing the continent's environment.

A member of the Institute of Directors, South Africa (IODSA).
